After more than fifteen years in the business I get it now. It is the discipline that makes you get up at dawn everyday to study your lines. It is the perseverance of working hard and continue to show regarldess of how much rejection gets thrown at you. It is the willingness to put your health, your wellbeing first because if your mind and your body are not at their best, as an actor, you will not deliver your best either. It is the initiative to ask for help and to seek out available resources when needed that will help you succeed.

Whether you hate them or love them self-tapes are here to stay! With all the extra work that involves taping your own auditions there is a great payoff: you get to do it as many times as you want. You get to control which take they see! That is huge! Let's send the best possible take.
And yes, you will also 'get in the room' and audition in front of casting directors, producers and creatives. One must be ready, with clear choices and with enough mastery in the scene that you can also be flexible and spontaneous.
